NATIONAL SKILL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN (Erstwhile Regional Vocational Training Institute for Women) was established in 1977 with an objective to empower women by providing them various courses of Vocational Training under the aegis of Women Training, Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

From April 2015, Training vertical was subsumed into newly formed ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

The following courses are conducted at this institute located in the heart of Mumbai at Dadar west.

1. Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) - Dress Making, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Cosmetology, Architectural Draftsmanship Trades.

2. Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) - Dress Making, Cosmetology, Fashion Design and Technology Trades.

3. Advanced Diploma Course on IT, Networking & Cloud Computing. (IBM)

The Labs and workshop are well equipped with the latest machinery, tools and equipments. The faculties are well qualified and professionally trained to impart the best training techniques. Wide range of books and other study materials are available in the library for trainees.

Total number of trainees trained till date  is 7840 .

Placement Cell 878 (2006 to 2018) no. of trainees placed in various govt. as well as private organisations.

Industrial Visits and MoU - Industrial visits to various organisations are regularly arranged for trainees in order to update the knowledge of trainees to meet the requirement of industry.  Trainees are also deputed for on-the-job training to various reputed private and government organisations to get familiar with the real time situations and acquiring hands on practice.
